Position Overview:
The Lead Radiation Therapist plays a pivotal role in the management and execution of radiation therapy procedures, providing essential leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
Work Environment:
Full-Time Position
Shift: Day Shift (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Radiation Therapist is responsible for:
- Delivering expert guidance and training to radiation therapy staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborating with management to enhance operational efficiency and patient care quality.
- Facilitating the onboarding process for new therapists and students, ensuring they are well-versed in departmental standards.
- Conducting regular reviews of operational manuals and recommending necessary updates.
- Identifying and addressing challenges within the department, proposing actionable solutions to enhance service delivery.
- Maintaining a high level of technical proficiency in radiation oncology practices and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in radiation therapy, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
- A valid state license in Radiation Therapy and ARRT certification.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Strong organizational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff members.
- Proficiency in using Radiation Oncology Information Systems and related software.
Working Conditions:
The position requires:
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with patients undergoing treatment, including those with complex medical needs.
