Job Overview
The Maintenance Carpenter and Painter plays a vital role in preserving the integrity of our store environments. This position involves maintaining interior walls, flooring, ceilings, entry doors, fitting room hardware, and various fixtures, along with skilled painting and finishing tasks across a range of surfaces.

Essential Functions

Carpenter Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair walls, flooring, ceilings, fixtures, doors, and hardware.
  • Conduct repair and preventative maintenance on building interiors.
  • Utilize power tools safely and manage heavy or bulky items.
  • Employ the Work Order System for tracking repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and be able to travel between locations.
  • Work effectively around customers and staff.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to safety standards and guidelines.

Painter Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint various surfaces, furniture, and fixtures using diverse painting materials.
  • Adjust colors as necessary for desired outcomes.
  • Repair sheetrock walls and ceilings using tape and joint compound.
  • Remove graffiti with appropriate products.
  • Install and repair wall coverings as needed.
  • Maintain and operate all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
  • Manage inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
  • Estimate time and materials for projects.
  • Set up scaffolding and use ladders safely.
  • Store and label materials according to safety regulations.
  • Respond to routine and emergency service calls, documenting work completed.

Competencies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Resourceful and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be responsive to after-hours and weekend calls.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, and climb ladders.
  • Frequent use of technology and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel between store locations may be required.
