Position Summary
The Maintenance Carpenter/Painter plays a crucial role in upholding the aesthetic and functional integrity of our facilities. This position involves maintaining various interior elements, including walls, flooring, ceilings, and doors, alongside executing skilled painting and finishing tasks across a diverse range of surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair structural components such as walls, flooring, and fixtures.
- Conduct routine repairs and preventative maintenance on building interiors.
- Utilize power tools safely and manage heavy items as required.
- Manage work orders effectively, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain a valid Driver's License and be prepared for travel between locations.
- Work safely in proximity to customers and staff.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
- Operate independently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Assist with all maintenance tasks as directed.
Painting Duties:
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Repair sheetrock and apply necessary treatments to walls and ceilings.
- Remove unwanted markings and install wall coverings as needed.
- Maintain and operate all painting equipment efficiently.
- Manage inventory of supplies and estimate project requirements.
- Set up scaffolding and ladders safely for various tasks.
- Comply with hazardous material handling regulations.
- Respond to service requests promptly and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams and customers.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and resourcefulness in problem-solving.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Availability for after-hours emergency calls is essential.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively within budget constraints.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Physical tasks may include reaching, kneeling, and climbing.
- Frequent use of technology and equipment necessary for job functions.
- Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Some travel between locations may be required.
