Job Summary

This is a 12-month contract with Saxon Global. The role is remote for a few weeks, with onsite hybrid work in 1-2 months. All visa options are available, including H1B.

Key Responsibilities
Provides intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases under general supervision.
Ensures reliable operation of production and test environments.
Diagnoses and troubleshoots availability interruptions and other production issues.
Communicates with teams to keep them apprised of status and issues.
Tests, installs, and migrates software, patches, upgrades, applications, and/or hardware.
Participates in an off-hours on-call rotation.

Continuous Learning
Develops a continual learning mindset, exploring new technologies, tools, and processes.
Explores technical domains such as the AWS Cloud, data migration, and integrity, Java, Spring, OAuth.
Explores business domains such as financial services.

Technical Skills
API development tools and technology (e.g., REST fundamentals, Java, SQL, Pure Spring, etc.).
AWS cloud architecture and supporting services and technologies (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Splunk, Glue, DynamoDB, and Cloud Formation Templates, etc.).
Data migration functions, including data replication, data ingestion, data preparation/transformation, and data integrity.
DevOps and Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) concepts and tools.

Other Competencies
Java programming experience.
Python programming experience.
Experienced with SQL.

Experience with Key AWS Services/Components
IAM, S3, ECS, EMR, Lambda, Glue, AWS RDS, DynamoDB.
Knowledge of REST architecture and microservice concepts.
Experience with software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.
Experience with software engineering tools, such as Eclipse, Git, and others.
Able to write clean, maintainable code and read code created by others.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a progressive, fast-paced environment and enjoys defining solutions for business problems.

Requirements
Minimum of three years related work experience, with at least one year of development experience.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Flexible schedule, with some activities requiring off-hours or weekend support.
