Job Overview

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will lead the design and coordination of distribution systems for utilities, smart grid automation systems, and the integration of smart devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for overhead and underground projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design.
  • Design new business projects, including line extensions and services for various customer types.
  • Utilize CAD systems for design.
  • Work on customer easements and local permits.
  • Track and coordinate project progress.
  • Create project scopes and materials in tools like SAP or Maximo.
  • Coordinate field/construction work and closeout.
  • Obtain field notes and work in remote areas.
  • Lead QA/QC efforts.
  • Apply NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience with power system analysis using CYME or ETAP is preferred.
  • Load flow and fault studies experience is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs.
  • Primarily work in an office setting.
  • Ability to travel and/or work in the field as needed.
