Role Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented individual to fill the role of Student Advocate I. This position serves as the primary contact for students seeking assistance and guidance within the university's Student Affairs and other departments. The Student Advocate I will assess student needs and connect them with appropriate resources and services to ensure a successful college experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all students.
  • Proactively address and resolve student inquiries and concerns.
  • Act as a 'triage agent' to identify the necessary services for students.
  • Evaluate each student's situation to determine urgency and respond accordingly.
  • Collect and verify documents required by various departments, ensuring completeness.
  • Assist students with navigating online platforms and completing necessary forms.
  • Stay informed about all academic policies and procedures.
  • Provide cross-functional support within the Student Affairs Division.
  • Demonstrate a student-centered approach in all job functions.
  • Exhibit understanding and respect for the interconnectedness of student services.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment and treat all individuals with respect.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
  • Support the Office of Disability Services by serving as a testing proctor.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or a High School Diploma with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with general office policies and procedures.
