Job Summary

As a Financial Management Analyst with the US Secret Service, you will play a critical role in exercising judgment and discretion to make budgetary decisions, commitments, and recommendations. This position requires a high level of expertise in financial management, budgeting, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a financial consultant to management, providing advice on budgeting techniques, financial management products, resource distribution, program priorities, and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to managers on obtaining and effectively using funds, ensuring proper and full use of provided funding.
  • Monitor year-end closing to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide instruction, cost analysis, and financial or procurement/purchasing guidance to managers for developing various procurement or operating budget requests.
  • Coordinate with Department of State interagency agreement requests, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
  • Obtain and maintain a top secret Tier 5 clearance.
  • Submit to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while occupying the position.
  • Financial disclosure report required.
Qualifications
  • Specialized Experience: GS-13
  • One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
    • Utilizing policies, procedures, and regulations to analyze long-range budget requests prior to approval.
    • Reviewing budget requests to ensure efficient and appropriate utilization of funds over time.
    • Analyzing trends in receipts, obligations, and expenditures to ensure efficient utilization of allocated funds.
    • Providing advice on the utilization and completion of interagency agreements to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
