Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice

Delivers age-appropriate care tailored to the specific population served.

Considers developmental stages, age-related factors such as thermal regulation, nutrition, medication administration, safety, and the functional needs of patients.

Utilizes appropriate resources for patients with unique needs, including language barriers, sensory challenges, altered cognition, and cultural or religious considerations.

Ensures a holistic approach to the patient's physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
Demonstrates proficiency in assessment skills, including admission and shift evaluations.
Conducts pain assessments and intervenes effectively to meet patients' comfort needs.
Plans clinical care based on individual patient requirements and utilizes available resources efficiently.
Implements clinical care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Performs peripheral venipuncture and manages both peripheral and central vascular access in line with policy and procedure.
Evaluates the outcomes of nursing interventions and takes necessary actions to help patients achieve their care goals.
Recognizes situations that require patient rescue and responds appropriately, such as activating Rapid Response or Code Blue/Pink.

Adheres to the five rights of medication administration and employs the Medication Administration Check (MAK) system as per policy.

Integrates infection control and prevention principles into practice.
Maintains aseptic technique as required.
Utilizes resources and references for reviewing policies, procedures, medications, and clinical information.
Effectively prioritizes and organizes work within the assigned shift.
Education, Training, and Experience
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.

While experience is preferred, comprehensive training and specialty-specific educational programs are provided during orientation and must be successfully completed as scheduled.


Basic Computer Skills:
Proficient use of keyboard and mouse. Ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation systems. Familiarity with email and internet usage. Capable of completing on-the-job training for CCH computer programs. Demonstrates critical thinking and organizational skills. Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
Must successfully complete the chemotherapy course and obtain certification to administer chemotherapy within two years of hire. Additionally, must pass the annual chemotherapy competency assessment.
Licensure/Certification
Current Pennsylvania RN License.
BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
CPR certification is mandatory.
Certification in a clinical specialty is preferred.
Must meet specialty-specific competency requirements, including:
- Dysrhythmia Interpretation
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Chemotherapy Administration
- Triage Course
