Job Title: Senior Hardware Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team at Persistent Systems, LLC in New York. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading the research and development of new products, improving existing products, and developing Systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, derive, and capture product/program requirements, including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams.
  • Support software and hardware testing.
  • Support and facilitate engineering projects, including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration.
  • Support the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained.
  • Ensure quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals.
  • Provide support and deliver solutions for rapid development projects.
  • Modify and update requirements documents.
  • Coordinate preparation of design drawings, including updates.
  • Support and facilitate project scheduling.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience working as a Hardware Design Engineer, demonstrating powerful design thinking in both interaction and experience design.
  • At least 3 years of experience in RF engineering.
  • Defense Project Management Experience, interfacing directly with customers for networking architecture solutions and product integration solutions.
  • Product Development experience.
  • Experience with complex systems development, evaluation, and requirements capture.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical interface requirements.
  • Experience in risk analysis and progress reporting.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 years of systems engineering and networking experience.
  • Experience with Embedded Linux.
  • Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces.
  • Experience in electromagnetic capability (EMC) testing and design.
  • Knowledge of military certification/qualification testing.
