Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer IV to join our team at NV Energy. This role will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and operating our telecommunications infrastructure in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement telecommunication systems and circuits, including MPLS networks, fiber optic, SONET, and microwave communications.
  • Provide technical leadership on major projects or system upgrades, and support day-to-day operations.
  • Assess telecommunication system equipment and develop improvement plans and solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation that meets the requirements of NERC CIP, WECC, and FERC.
  • Provide advanced technical support to maintain and operate our telecommunication systems.
  • Renew and modify FCC licenses as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to the position and company.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field, and 15 years of telecommunications or networking experience. Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 19 years of experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the corporation, business operations, company products and services, SCADA circuit, LAN/WAN switching, routing, and MPLS, TCP/IP and Ethernet network fundamentals, RF Design, RF Survey, and RTUs, fiber optic cables, and DC battery plants and grounding systems.

Demonstrated skills in detail-oriented, human relations, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, and providing technical leadership to staff.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $115,900 (Min) to $136,300 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
