Electrician Supervisor I

You will serve as an Electrician Supervisor I in the Facilities and Project Support Shop (Shop 99), Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. This position is responsible for supervising subordinates qualified to install, remove, maintain and repair services for nuclear ships, submarines, refueling and defueling complexes, and shops and codes requiring electrical power and communication systems support services.
Key Responsibilities- Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools to accommodate nuclear work operations.
- Establish training requirements for subordinates work qualifications and certifications are maintained.
- Observe work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems and assure use of appropriate work practices.
- Participate with superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and staffing needs.
- Determine training and re-qualification schedules and scheduling subordinates to attend required training to maintain critical nuclear qualifications.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
