Master Machinist for Precision Engineering

CNC Programmer Responsibilities
- CNC Programming Expertise: Develop, edit, and optimize complex CNC programs for machined components on vertical milling centers, gang/turret lathes, and Swiss turn machines.
- Engineering Change Control: Handle and implement Engineering Changes as required in the Engineering and Manufacturing process, ensuring accurate records and proper documentation.
- Revision and Document Control: Ensure controlled CNC program revisions and maintain accurate records of changes and updates.
- Machine Shop Manufacturing Skills: Practical experience in machining, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machines, reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics, with GD&T knowledge.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with Engineers, Machinists, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure efficient production, setting priorities, and monitoring progress to meet production schedules.
- Machining Concepts: Work on high-precision components using advanced CNC programming techniques, setting up and operating manual and CNC machines, producing precision parts with tight tolerances.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes, ensuring all machined parts meet stringent specifications and industry standards, conducting inspections as needed.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior and intermediate machinists, assisting in developing training materials for CNC programming.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve CNC programming processes to increase efficiency and reduce production time, working with engineering and production teams to implement improvements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and protocols, ensuring safe machine operation and enforcing safe work practices among teams.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with team members and management regarding program updates, challenges, and improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, machining operations, production data, and related information, ensuring accuracy and updatability.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Technology or relevant field preferred, with certifications in CNC Programming desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in manufacturing, preferably with lead or senior level experience.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding and proficiency in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and machining processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of quality control processes and ability to conduct detailed inspections.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Works in an office and machine shop environment with potential exposure to loud noise, metal shavings, cutting fluids, and lubricants.
- May require use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, composite toe shoes, gloves, and ear protection.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
