Job Overview

Machining Automation Expert sought by MMT to develop excellence in automation, machine design, and custom tooling. This role contributes to company success through accountability, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • CNC Programming: Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for complex parts on 3/4 axis vertical milling centers, gang/turret lathes, and 5/9 axis Swiss turn machines, ensuring efficient and accurate machining operations.
  • Engineering Change Control: Handle and implement Engineering Changes as required in the Engineering and Manufacturing process, maintaining records and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Machine Shop Manufacturing Skills: Practical experience in machining, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machines, reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics; GD&T knowledge.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with Engineers, Machinists, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure efficient and effective production, setting priorities and monitoring progress to meet production schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and contribute to quality control processes, ensuring machined parts meet stringent specifications and industry standards, conducting inspections as needed relative to programs and specifications.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to improve CNC programming processes, increasing efficiency and reducing production time, working with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a Manufacturing Technology-related field is preferred, or relevant experience may substitute.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with various materials and machine types, previous lead or senior level experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding and proficiency in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and machining processes.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
