The Referral Testing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our referral testing process. This includes packing and shipping specimens to external laboratories, managing work flow, and resolving complex issues related to specimen testing.
Key Responsibilities- Specimen Preparation and Shipping: Pack and ship specimens to external laboratories in accordance with federal and company regulations.
- Work Flow Management: Monitor and manage the work flow of outgoing specimens, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve complex issues related to specimen testing, including TIQ resolution, missing or lost specimen investigations, and TASK resolution.
- Insurance and Billing: Verify insurance and billing information for accuracy and determine if additional information is required to prevent inaccurate billing.
- Training and Development: Assist in the training of new employees and aid in the development and validation of laboratory procedures.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 12 months of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent.
- Skills: Intermediate level PC skills, basic medical terminology, and specimen type recognition.
- Lean or Six Sigma: Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma concepts.
- Additional Education and Experience: Additional related education and/or experience.
