The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships to maximize profitability for the bank while maintaining acceptable risk. This involves relationship management, credit management, and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Manage complex relationships requiring in-depth analysis
  • Deliver sustainable value to customers by anticipating their needs and expectations and providing tailored solutions
  • Ensure the integrity and timeliness of customer information, documentation, and data
  • Ensure each relationship is profitable and represents appropriate risk

Credit Management

  • Assess borrower creditworthiness for new loan requests in accordance with credit policy
  • Present loan opportunities to credit approvers with well-articulated and well-reasoned analysis
  • Ensure loans are documented in accordance with credit approvals
  • Manage enterprise risk for products and services, including depository services and treasury management products, as well as fraudulent activity

Business Development

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of commercial banking products and services
  • Demonstrate an active calling effort to maintain a comprehensive pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with Senior Relationship Managers to refine business development strategies
  • Provide existing and prospective customers with relevant financial services and advice
  • Support less experienced Relationship Managers by offering insight and recommendations on marketing and deal flow management
  • Initiate community visibility and involvement through strategic relationships with centers of influence and organizations
  • Maintain a pipeline of business leaders and prospects

Qualifications:

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in commercial lending as a credit analyst, underwriting specialist, or portfolio manager
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Relationship Manager
  • Advanced familiarity with treasury management services and other banking products

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Thorough accounting and finance knowledge
  • Strong technical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations, and compliance related to commercial lending
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of the bank and borrower while balancing risk and shareholder value
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility as business dictates
  • Ability and willingness to investigate, resolve, and recommend process improvement opportunities

Job Details:

Regular In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $84,000 and $155,500 annually, actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience, and education.
