About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team at Louisiana CAT. As a key member of our Power Systems department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient assembly and installation of marine, petroleum, and industrial engines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install mechanical components, including engines, equipment, and associated systems, to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in wiring electrical controls to meet customer specifications.
  • Understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications, and operational and safety standards.
  • Determine and troubleshoot issues, and recommend remedial measures.
  • Utilize corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to enter time and project notes.
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures, and identify and report any safety issues.
  • Complete training requirements to earn and maintain job-specific training certifications as required.
  • Embrace and support quality management system initiatives to achieve a continuous improvement environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • PREFERRED: 2-year degree or equivalent electrical experience.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Mechanically inclined with some packaging assembly experience a plus.
Work Environment

This role requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, and bending, as per the job description.
