Work Location: North Beach neighborhood, San Francisco
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, Saturday 1:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Compensation: $ per hour
About the Organization: Established in 1977, the Chinatown Community Development Center is a private non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a comprehensive vision of community. We manage approximately 30 affordable housing facilities, serving over 3,800 low-income seniors, single adults, formerly homeless individuals, and families from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds in various neighborhoods of San Francisco. Our mission includes building housing, developing grassroots leadership, and engaging low-income residents and youth. Our team is passionate about our mission, thrives in a supportive organizational culture, and embodies values of empowerment, collaboration, and compassion. We are committed to hiring practices that reflect our dedication to providing culturally competent services and encourage applications from individuals of color.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register all visitors entering and exiting the building.
- Oversee all exits through surveillance monitoring and physical patrols during shifts.
- Maintain a detailed daily log to communicate important information.
- Report any violations of House Rules to the Property Manager.
- Proactively contact emergency services or non-emergency police as per established protocols and inform the On-Site Manager, Property Manager, or Property Supervisor of any building emergencies.
- Document incidents and forward reports to the appropriate staff following protocols.
- Respond to building emergencies in the absence of the On-Site Manager, Property Manager, or Property Supervisor.
- Ensure the front entrance, lobby, and adjacent areas are orderly and welcoming.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to perform under pressure.
- Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
- Composed and calm under stressful situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience working with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Awareness of the challenges faced by families, homeless individuals, disabled persons, and the elderly.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in security or reception roles.
- Outstanding customer service abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Bilingual skills in English and Chinese, Russian, or Spanish are advantageous.
