Position Overview

About Us

The Montclair Cooperative School is a distinguished independent institution catering to children from Early Ages through Eighth Grade, established in 1963. With a close-knit community of around 125 students, we pride ourselves on our progressive educational approach and collaborative environment.

We are in search of an After School Program Assistant to collaborate with our After School Program Coordinator. This role is essential in providing a supportive and engaging environment for students from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Prepare the designated area for snack time upon arrival, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene by disinfecting tables.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in facilitating academic and social enrichment activities that meaningfully extend the school day. Responsibilities include aiding in homework completion, leading enjoyable fitness sessions, and ensuring the safety of children during all activities.
  • Maintain constant awareness of the location and well-being of all children under your supervision.
  • Address disciplinary matters by reporting them to the After School Coordinator and contribute to assessing situations as they occur.
  • Exemplify positive guidance and effective management strategies to ensure the safety and engagement of all children.
  • Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, organize educational materials for lessons and activities, as well as track attendance.

Compensation: $18 per hour


Qualifications:

The Montclair Cooperative School seeks candidates with prior experience working with children in a school or daycare environment, particularly within this age group.
