Role Summary:

The Retail Cash Handling Associate is responsible for facilitating customer transactions at the point of sale while ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers warmly as they enter the store.
  • Accurately operate the cash register using various methods including UPC scanning and product codes.
  • Process payments in cash, checks, or credit/debit cards for purchases.
  • Assist customers in finding products and addressing inquiries regarding items or pricing.
  • Maintain organized workspaces, including transaction records.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions by reconciling the cash register at the start and end of shifts.
  • Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
  • Resolve customer complaints effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Support inventory management by stocking shelves and maintaining cleanliness in the store.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to operate cash handling equipment, including registers and scanners.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions and refunds.
  • Familiarity with company products and customer service policies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of on-the-job training, including levels 1 and 2 of the provided training program.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while operating cash registers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting/moving of up to 80 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks over prolonged periods.
