Objective

Oversees significant capital equipment and tooling initiatives related to machining, part washing, assembly, leak detection, gauging, automation, and packaging, ensuring alignment with company standards and project timelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Directs substantial capital equipment and tooling initiatives, focusing on machining, part washing, assembly, leak detection, gauging, automation, and packaging to adhere to company standards and project schedules.
  • Enhances and builds upon CNC tooling and fixturing strategies currently in place, implementing best practices for future programs at Nemak.
    • Aids in managing CNC programming and tooling inventory while applying effective machining and tooling methodologies.
  • Champions the company's technical advancement for emerging technologies associated with machining, automation, and assembly.
  • Conducts capability assessments and evaluations on all new capital equipment.
  • Assists the Estimating department in defining technical specifications to secure precise tool quotations and evaluate feasibility.
  • Facilitates new program specifications and communication regarding machining and secondary operations requirements, ensuring collaboration among customer purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing for a robust process.
  • Offers productivity support for automation and plant engineering while implementing lean initiatives.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate's Degree required.
  • Preferred experience in CNC programming.
  • Preferred experience in tool design and fixture design.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Robot Studio, NX, and basic SAP is preferred.
