Key Responsibilities
- Formulate rehabilitation designs for dams, levees, and other water-retaining structures.
- Oversee or execute safety inspections and evaluations of dams and levees to assess their condition or support design initiatives.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers to enhance their knowledge in dam and levee inspection, design, construction, and analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including plans and specifications.
- Conduct cost and quantity estimations along with project scheduling.
- Supervise construction oversight and monitoring for dam and levee rehabilitation and decommissioning projects.
- Lead or participate in FERC Part 12 Dam Inspections and Potential Failure Mode Analysis Sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the relevant state is required, or the ability to obtain one.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in dam safety or a related field is essential.
- Willingness to obtain licensure in other states as necessary.
- A strong interest and enthusiasm for dams, levees, and water-retaining structures.
