About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Assistant Team Leader to join our team at pOpshelf. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will play a critical role in creating a positive and engaging shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Assist the Store Team Leader in maintaining a clean, well-organized store environment, adhering to company standards and procedures.
  • Supervise and support store employees, providing guidance and coaching to ensure they meet their performance goals.
  • Manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, and rotating products to ensure a visually appealing store display.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a high level of cash handling and security procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and development of store employees, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Participate in inventory management, controlling damages, markdowns, and ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of plan-o-zones, ensuring merchandise is presented according to established practices.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction, while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • One year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred.
  • Six months supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and operate cash registers and other tools.
  • Strong product inventory knowledge and creative merchandising abilities.
  • Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Frequent walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.

Fast-paced environment, moderate noise level, and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
