About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman Electrician to join our team at Hi-Tech Electric. As a Foreman Electrician, you will be responsible for leading a team of electricians and apprentices in the successful completion of client projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your knowledge of industrial and commercial environments, as well as your leadership and problem-solving skills, to ensure projects are properly planned and executed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of electricians and apprentices, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and up to code.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of electrical equipment installations.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Identify and resolve any issues with electrical systems, performing diagnostics and ensuring quick and effective solutions.
  • Order and manage materials and supplies, ensuring that the team has the necessary equipment to complete their tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company guidelines and OSHA standards, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations as outlined in NFPA 70E.
  • Monitor and report violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines to the immediate supervisor.
  • Keep accurate records of daily work, including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), timekeeping, project progress, and any issues or delays, ensuring all aspects of project plans, timelines, and deliverables are followed.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure that projects meet outlined plans, quality expectations, OSHA standards, and client requirements.
  • Continuously communicate with direct employees, customers, and leadership team members about electrical projects.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current Texas/NCCR journeyman license.
  • Currently have, or be able to obtain, a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Foreman Electrician.
  • Proven experience leading a team of 2-20 direct employees.
  • Commercial and light industrial working experience.
  • Duct Bank experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NEC codes.
  • In-depth knowledge of motor and control wiring, complex lighting, and power circuitry.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, layouts, and drawings.
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Must have reliable transportation and tools.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Houston and the surrounding metro area.
