Position Overview

Peterson Cat is seeking a Tax Compliance Specialist.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Tax Compliance Specialist is tasked with maintaining tax documentation and aiding in the preparation of tax filings, schedules, and reports. This role focuses on property tax and various local regulations. The Specialist is responsible for preparing submissions for local, state, and federal tax returns within designated timelines. The Tax Compliance Specialist supports all treasury operations related to taxation, including accruals, submissions, payments, reporting, and audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following outlines the essential functions of this role, though it does not limit the tasks that may be assigned. Management may adjust responsibilities as necessary. Key responsibilities include:
  • Oversee daily tax operations.
  • Collect data and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual tax obligations, as well as review, audit, and track submissions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax payments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including auditors, advisors, and tax authorities) to maintain tax compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries for accruals, deferrals, and other tax-related records.
  • Reconcile accruals and financial records against estimates, statements, payments, and tax returns.
  • Work with auditors and tax authorities to prepare returns, extensions, and other related filings.
  • Compile data for audits and collaborate with auditors to ensure adherence to tax regulations.
  • Generate treasury and transaction reports, maintaining comprehensive and accurate records for all tax-related projects.
  • Continuously monitor and update tax-related records and information.
  • Assist with daily cash management tasks and conduct research as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, or a closely related field, coupled with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, including at least one year in tax-related roles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

The compensation range for this position is: $80,000 - $95,000 (Starting salary will be determined based on experience and education. A comprehensive compensation package is also offered in addition to the base salary.)
