Job Title: Maintenance Intern

At ZF Group, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Intern to join our team. As a Maintenance Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our production processes and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Intern will be responsible for assisting in the development of standardized communication strategies for Key Process Indicators and supporting the launch of new production builds. You will also be involved in daily and weekly tasks, as well as long-term projects that align with our plant goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in data mining activities to support plant Six Sigma projects and production operation studies.
  • Collaborate with Lean Specialist and Planning Specialist on launching new division 5-S and common production communication boards.
  • Organize and set up a common folder and file system for the assembly manufacturing network share drive.
  • Support the launch of new online production database with plant IT specialists.
  • Work closely with process/quality engineers and planning specialist on specific tasks in production, including standardized work instructions, updating production documents, gathering engineering samples, and organizing shipments.
  • Gather and distribute daily production data to key team members via standardized reports.
  • Provide support to other departments and employees as needed to expedite high-priority tasks.
  • Assist with plant physical inventory activities, including planned non-production days to perform plant-wide physical inventory process.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in college with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS-Office Suite and MS Excel in Macros and formulas.
  • Quality-oriented and detail-focused, with ability to prioritize tasks and accept direction from multiple sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with ability to engage with team members for projects.
  • Flexible to work off-shift hours when necessary, as Marysville is a 3-shift operation.
  • Available to work overtime on days and/or weekends when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a specified time while standing.
  • This position requires extensive walking, pushing, and pulling throughout the production areas.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (11 kg) and use fine motor skills to handle parts or tools in a repetitive production environment.
