Job Description

Summit Midstream Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Control Center Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the movement of natural gas and liquid materials through pipelines in accordance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding project work that affects the Summit Operations Control Center.
  • Assist in implementing and developing practices and procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient monitoring of pipeline systems.
  • Coordinate modifications to optimize the SCADA system on behalf of the Control Center.
  • Evaluate and update Control Center functions for emergency response and back-up contingency plans.
  • Ensure job plans and daily schedules are followed, and goals are met.
  • Assist in troubleshooting SCADA, communications, and electronic measurement systems issues, as well as issues with operating tools used by the Control Center.
  • Interface with Commercial and Scheduling to maintain collaborative working relationships with department members, district offices, and field employees.
  • Effectively communicate Control Center plans and activities to various stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Build and maintain favorable relations with internal and external contacts.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to improve business processes.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations on Field Maintenance Schedules to ensure minimum impact to customers.
  • Review and critique the accuracy of the written communication Event Logger.
  • Assist in Point Testing of systems.
  • Support the Control Center on Leak Detection events.
  • Assist Management with CRM, recordkeeping, and administrative support, as needed.
  • Serve in the On-Call rotation as needed.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years prior control center experience in the pipeline or natural gas or liquid industry.
  • Ability to use PC, including Microsoft Office applications, and to learn company-specific applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
