Production Packaging Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Packaging Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production packaging machinery, including case forming, packaging, and palletizing systems.
  • Setting up, operating, and replenishing fiber gluing and taping equipment.
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously without deviation.
  • Generating pallet identification labels in line with the production schedule, verifying case quantities, product IDs, and production dates.
  • Setting up case coding equipment and validating product case codes according to specifications.
  • Accurately verifying and recording product case quantities.
  • Identifying and communicating any out-of-specification product conditions, adhering to established notification protocols.
  • Performing routine equipment adjustments and ensuring safe operation of lift trucks.
  • Completing production records and documentation accurately and neatly.
  • Executing equipment change-overs, clean-up operations, and set-ups.
  • Conducting environmental controls and managing product reclaim and rework operations per guidelines.
  • Supporting internal and external audits and following all occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-training with other departments and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
  • Complying with federal, state, and local dairy food regulations.
  • Upholding the company’s Code of Ethics and actively applying our core values.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues and other department personnel.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

You are an ideal candidate if you possess:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, with a preference for dairy experience.
  • Advanced training or certifications in quality and food safety (preferred but not mandatory).
  • A solid understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (e.g., SQF, QA/QC, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP).
  • Strong mathematical and technical skills, with the ability to operate and comprehend equipment controls and mechanical operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A proven work history with a commitment to good attendance.
