Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Packaging Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Safely and efficiently managing production packaging machinery, including case forming, packaging, and palletizing equipment.
  • Setting up, operating, and replenishing fiber gluer and/or taping equipment.
  • Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously.
  • Generating pallet identification labels according to the production schedule, ensuring accuracy in case quantity, product ID, and production dates.
  • Setting up case coding equipment and validating product case codes as per specifications.
  • Verifying and recording precise product case quantities.
  • Identifying and communicating any out-of-specification product conditions promptly.
  • Performing routine equipment adjustments and safe operation of lift trucks.
  • Completing production records and documents accurately.
  • Executing equipment change-overs, clean-up operations, and set-ups.
  • Conducting environmental controls and product reclaim operations in line with guidelines.
  • Supporting internal and external audits and complying with all occupational health and safety protocols.
  • Following established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-training with other departments and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
  • Adhering to federal, state, and local dairy food regulations.
  • Upholding the company's Code of Ethics and Values.
  • Collaborating effectively with co-workers and other department personnel.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

You are an ideal candidate if you possess:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy.
  • Advanced quality and food safety training or certifications (preferred but not required).
  • A solid understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (e.g., SQF, QA/QC, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP).
  • Strong mathematical and technical skills, with the ability to operate and understand equipment controls and mechanical operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven work history with a strong attendance record.
