Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients, adjust equipment, and secure immobilization and support devices as needed to perform procedures.
  • Determine appropriate image technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality films.
  • Operate advanced and sophisticated ultrasound equipment.
  • Assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures, including specialty procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality care.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining patient records and scheduling examinations.
  • Coordinate quality control activities, including checking ultrasound films and disseminating exams.
  • Provide instruction and orientation to students and new technologists.
  • Participate in problem-solving and address patient, department, and employee concerns.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Sonography.
  • 1 year experience as a Sonographer preferred.
  • Certified by Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • CPR certification.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Ability to work rotating shifts and deal with extremely ill patients.
