Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist collaborates with healthcare professionals to execute the organization's mission and vision. This role requires a pleasant and welcoming personality, with the ability to travel to various healthcare facilities in Berkshire County, if needed. The ideal candidate will contribute to a caring, collaborative, and innovative work environment, supporting the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms, preparing them for visits and accurately obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Perform patient intake to assist providers in directing patient care, as per written protocol, and assist with exams, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, as requested.
  • May perform EKGs on selected patients, prepare laboratory requests, and ensure accurate labels and records on all specimens.
  • Vaccine administration (if certified) and maintain professional certification/registration.
  • Update service profiles to accommodate providers' scheduling needs, answer and screen outside calls, and supply information to callers and record messages.
  • Answer patient calls/messages to ensure timely response to their issues/inquiries, pre-register patients at time of appointment scheduling, and accurately obtain information to ensure patient is appropriately triaged per protocol.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent completion of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
  • Medical office experience and electronic medical records experience are a plus.
  • Massachusetts Certified Medical Assistant Certification is required.
