Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Cardiac Stepdown Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pediatric Critical Care Medicine team at Duke Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct patient care services for critically ill pediatric patients aged 0-21 with acute, complex, and chronic illness across a variety of care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate clinical care for service-specific patients through established protocols and under the supervision of a physician.
- Collaborate with residents, fellows, attending physicians, other APP colleagues, nurses, and other staff to formulate treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Assess patients for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate emergency interventions in an effort to stabilize the patient.
- Develop patient care pathways, protocols, and guidelines for the management of specific problems in conjunction with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to supervising physicians, nursing staff, patient resource managers, home health agencies, and other relevant healthcare providers.
- Graduate of a Master's or Doctoral Degree ARC-accredited Physician Assistant program or a MSN or DNP Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current unrestricted RN license issued by or recognized by the NCBON with approval to practice as an NP or a current unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB with approval to practice as a PA.
- PNP-AC certification for NPs or PA-C certification for PAs.
- Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in a pediatric acute care clinical setting strongly preferred with a cardiac-specific background.
