Purpose of the Job:

The Finance Controller is a key role within the Mpac Group, responsible for providing financial leadership and business support to the operating business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position plays a crucial part in ensuring the business operates within agreed financial and business control frameworks.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Drive a culture of financial accountability across the business, supporting the financial integration to the Mpac Group.
  2. Collaborate with the group and business management team to drive profitable growth and business development.
  3. Ensure appropriate controls are in place and adhered to across the business, working with IT to ensure the integrity of the business's IT infrastructure.
  4. Support the Vice President of Finance with the strategic and financial planning process in the business.
Key Accountabilities:
  1. Work with the Vice President of Finance to ensure consistency in approach to planning, budgeting, and forecasting across the group.
  2. Provide reliable external and internal information to the planning process, working with other functions to support this.
  3. Implement monitoring and accountability processes for strategic action plans (SAPs) in the business.
  4. Collaborate with the local management team to ensure alignment with group strategy.

Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Proven track record of achievement and demonstrated career progression.
  2. Minimum of 5+ years in cost accounting and/or financial planning and analysis (manufacturing or project-based accounting under IFRS an asset).
  3. Experience in a multi-location (preferably multi-national) matrix organization.
  4. Excellent communication skills - written and oral (including presentation skills).
  5. University degree and recognized accounting designation (CPA).
  6. Excellent systems skills - thorough understanding of ERP systems; advanced user of Excel.
