About the Role:
The SST Direct team is seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to join our team. As a Pump Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing laser alignments and taking vibration readings to ensure the optimal performance of our pumps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laser alignments and take vibration readings to ensure pump performance
- Read blueprints and drawings to understand pump specifications
- Use micrometers and dial indicators to measure pump components
- Utilize presses, torches, and pullers to repair and maintain pumps
- Align pumps and motors to ensure proper function
- Rebuild mechanical seals to prevent leaks and damage
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in pump maintenance and repair
- Working knowledge of fits and clearances to ensure proper pump function
- Adept at reading micrometers and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Good math skills to calculate pump performance
- Accomplished at writing inspection reports to document pump maintenance
