Job Summary:

The Rush Oak Park Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to lead our team of APPs. As a Lead APP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supervising and coordinating the work of APPs, and contributing to the development of department goals and policies.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including conducting comprehensive health assessments, developing patient care plans, and ordering and interpreting tests and treatments.
Supervise and coordinate the work of APPs, including scheduling, orientation, and administrative duties.
Contribute to the development of department goals and policies, including the creation of policies and procedures related to APPs.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant Licensure or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Licensure required.
Current Certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or other agency recognized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) required.
Degree from an ARC-PA (or predecessor) accredited PA Program or Master's degree in nursing required.
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS are required within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a practicing APP in a hospital emergency department.
Strong work ethic, interpersonal and communication skills.
Superb time management and organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a demanding patient care environment where the exposure to illnesses is a constant concern.
