Job Title: Tax Compliance Manager

Nilfisk, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income tax and sales/use tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings, and managing audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all sales/use tax returns and filings;
  • Manage third-party preparation of these returns;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with sales/use tax authorities;
  • Coordinate and resolve all state sales/use tax audits;
  • Maintain the exemption certificate process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations;
  • Reconcile all sales/use tax accounts and manage compliance for 1099/1042 requirements, unclaimed property filings, and personal property tax;
  • Monitor state tax nexus and assist with other filings such as business licenses, state registrations, gross receipts filing, franchise taxes, and annual reports;
  • Coordinate with our external service provider on matters related to corporate income tax.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • CPA or equivalent is a plus;
  • Experience in US tax compliance and reporting in a corporate environment, previous consulting or public accounting experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax concepts;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Vertex and/or SAP ERP systems is a plus;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
