Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Materials and Structural Analysis Division. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing sophisticated equipment and systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation of complex equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel
  • Travel to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
  • Complete and submit field service reports
  • Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance
  • Provide feedback to product quality teams
  • Align with application scientists to collaborate on outstanding solutions to meet our users' challenges
Requirements:
  • An associate degree from a technical or undergrad program in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science, or a similar field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or ability to learn
  • Operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Prober, or similar systems
  • Experience with Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) a plus but not required
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities include reading, writing, and speaking English fluently, working under pressure, detail-oriented, problem-solving, promoting a team environment, and displaying a high level of confidentiality
