Job Title: Resident Assistant

At North York General Hospital, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and creating a positive work environment for our staff. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Assistant to join our team in the Seniors' Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The Resident Assistant will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Practical Nurse to provide personal care to residents. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as performing other duties associated with the care of residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring
  • Perform other duties associated with the care of residents, as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a College of Applied Arts and Technology
  • Long-term care experience, preferred
  • Skilled in Point of Care (POC), preferred
  • Bilingualism in French/English, an asset
