Public Safety Officer I

The City of Roswell, Georgia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer I. This role is essential in safeguarding the community by upholding the law and ensuring public safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting patrols in designated areas to deter criminal activities and enforce traffic regulations.
- Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, including incidents such as domestic disputes and thefts.
- Performing preliminary investigations, securing crime scenes, and gathering evidence for reports.
- Providing traffic and crowd control during various events and situations.
- Transporting individuals as required, including arrestees and mental health patients.
- Engaging in community outreach and maintaining positive interactions with the public.
- Completing necessary documentation and reports related to law enforcement activities.
- Utilizing various law enforcement equipment and technology effectively.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Completion of a certified Peace Officer Basic training course.
- Possession of a valid Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification.
- Valid Georgia driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Candidates must successfully pass a medical/drug screening and an eye examination. Additionally, completion of the Roswell Police Department's Career Development Program for Police Officer I is required.
