Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing skilled care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the surgical team in providing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing on a wide range of procedures.
  • Handle instruments and equipment in the OR with precision and attention to detail.
  • Participate in the planning of care for patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, employees, and physicians verbally and in writing.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or minimum 2-year ORT experience.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Certification by an approved certification body, such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and/or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (CST) and 1 Year OR Experience.
