Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker Lead to join our team at the Minnesota Department of Military Affairs. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment and facilities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities with other operational functions
  • Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle safely
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory management and control
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials
