As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for managing complex and problematic workers' compensation claims, working closely with case managers and attorneys, and negotiating settlements to achieve the best possible outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex workers' compensation claims, including determining validity and compensability, establishing reserves, and authorizing payments.
  • Develop and manage action plans with case managers and outcomes managers to reduce claim costs.
  • Coordinate early return-to-work efforts and manage subrogation and litigation as needed.
  • Communicate claim status with customers and claimants, and adhere to client and carrier guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain professional customer relationships and comply with applicable state regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in workers' compensation claims handling, with a strong understanding of claims administration, case management, and cost containment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Computer proficiency, with experience using MS Office and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
