Position Overview

The Research Scientist II plays a crucial role in conducting analytical projects associated with the Thoracic Oncology Research Group. This position encompasses technical writing and structured analytical tasks for project abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary, and occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafts abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, or grant applications as directed.
  • Oversees the progress of assigned thoracic oncology research initiatives.
  • Finalizes preparation and submission of thoracic oncology research projects.
  • Performs data analysis tasks as assigned.
  • Interprets, formats, and communicates analytical results to various stakeholders.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all research data and records, adhering to HIPAA, FDA, GCP, ICH, and IRB guidelines regarding research subjects.
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum: PhD in a health-analysis related field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, statistics, etc.).

Experience:

Preferred: 5 years of experience in research writing or analysis.

Minimum: 3 years of experience in research writing or analysis.

Special Skills:

Minimum: Proficient in computer applications (including Microsoft Office); must demonstrate skills in using SAS, S, and/or R. Familiarity with medical terminology and experience with electronic medical records is essential.
