Position Overview:


BAE Systems is in search of a highly skilled Senior Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Developer to engage in a pivotal role supporting the Air Force's advancement of the next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system, referred to as the Sentinel ICBM Program.


About the Sentinel Program:


The Sentinel initiative represents a vast and intricate Mega-Project aimed at modernizing the entire ICBM arsenal, which spans across extensive territories in multiple states.

This program is undeniably one of the Department of Defense's (DoD) most critical acquisition endeavors for the foreseeable future.

It encompasses a comprehensive overhaul or replacement of numerous aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to ensure the security and functionality of a newly engineered, technologically advanced ballistic missile.

Additionally, it will introduce a completely new command and control framework along with a wide range of essential support equipment specifically designed to operate and maintain the new weapon system for decades to come.

Having recently achieved Acquisitions Milestone B, Sentinel is one of the DoD's newest official programs of record, enjoying robust support at the national level.

This long-term project anticipates the weapon system remaining operational until at least 2075, presenting unique and challenging opportunities that are unparalleled in smaller projects.


Role Responsibilities:


The Senior MS&A Developer will play a crucial role within the LGM-35A Sentinel Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Analysis Branch.

The AVE Division holds a vital responsibility within the Sentinel program, focusing on the evaluation of solid rocket motors, guidance systems, and post-boost propulsion mechanisms.

The Analysis Branch is currently developing a six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) model to assess the flight performance of the Sentinel ICBM under development.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers and developers to finalize this 6-DOF simulation and other essential MS&A tools.


Key Duties Include:
  • Assisting the team in the creation, review, and testing of advanced rocket and missile dynamics and performance simulations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:


The ideal candidate will possess extensive engineering expertise to ensure that correct principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques are integral to the MS&A tools being developed.

They will ensure the accuracy and completeness of content, recommend corrective actions, and provide support for programmatic and technical briefings, reports, and related documentation.

Additionally, they should be capable of planning, coordinating, executing, and completing tasks related to engineering processes, protocols, and implementation for the LGM-35A Sentinel System Program Office.
