Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced attorney to provide legal counsel and support for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying, enabling them to effectively navigate the legal landscape in a nonprofit context.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer legal advice on various matters, including corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying efforts.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to safeguard the organization's interests.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as required.
  • Stay informed on current legislation and legal trends affecting the nonprofit sector.
  • Provide training and guidance on legal issues to staff members.
  • Contribute legal insights during organizational decision-making processes.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the state bar.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to nonprofits.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
