Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections Representative II to join our team at LBS Financial Credit Union. As a key member of our collections team, you will be responsible for performing orderly, efficient, and legal collection procedures to protect the Credit Union against loss while ensuring full compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations governing the collection process.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate with members to establish mutually acceptable repayment arrangements.
- Take the appropriate course of action for the successful collection of past due accounts when routine techniques have not been successful.
- Maintain a positive and professional interaction with members, branch offices, and departments.
- Provide limited direction and guidance to Collection Representatives in the absence of the Vice President, Collections or Collection Supervisor.
- May provide delinquent members with financial advice and counseling on a limited basis.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree preferred, with a focus in accounting, business, or finance.
- A minimum of two to five years of financial institution experience as a collection representative or similar position. Credit Union background desirable.
- Prior experience and proficiency with the use of external skip trace tools preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the understanding of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related rules and regulations governing the collection process.

In accordance with California's Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the expected salary range for this position is between $26.55. Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate's specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education, and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
As part of our screening process, LBS Financial conducts background investigations on candidates who are extended an offer and who agree and authorize us to do so. This investigation will include Employment Verifications, Credit Report, Criminal Records Search, Social Security Search, Governmental Registries Search, and eligibility to be bonded through a fidelity bond to cover employee loss and risk.
