Job Summary

Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Master Level Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs and diesel after treatment
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance and repair procedures
  • Coach and mentor other level technicians
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks
  • Must have demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be available to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required
