Job Title: ECE Afternoon Infant Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic ECE Afternoon Infant Assistant to join our team. As an ECE Afternoon Infant Assistant, you will provide direct supervision of a group of children in a safe, enjoyable, positive, and inclusive environment. You will implement daily lesson and activity plans, comply with state and local regulations, and adhere to program standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all children and activities within the program area
• Implement daily lesson and activity plans
• Comply with state and local regulations as well as YMCA standards and procedures
• Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
• Attend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directed
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies
• Maintain positive relations with participants, parents, and other staff
• Diapering and toilet training for children, including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothing
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum age 18
• Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF)
• Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR vaccine or proof of immunity, and portable background check
• Fluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:

As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds.
