Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ECE Afternoon Infant Assistant to join our team at the YMCA of Snohomish County. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and education to our youngest members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and care to a group of infants in a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment.
  • Implement daily lesson and activity plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Comply with state and local regulations, as well as YMCA standards and procedures.
  • Adhere to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Attend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directed.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with participants, parents, and other staff.
  • Diapering and toilet training for children, including assisting children in changing out of soiled clothing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by the Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF).
  • Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR vaccine or proof of immunity, and portable background check.
  • Fluency in a second language desired.

Physical Demands

As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
