Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Specialist to join our team at Institute for Comm Living. As a Recreation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized recreation plans to promote socialization, community integration, and skill development.
  • Provide transportation and accompaniment to community activities, ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences for our clients.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and staff to identify goals and objectives, and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Document and record events, progress, and outcomes, providing valuable insights for future planning and improvement.
  • Participate in staff development activities and programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and best practices in recreation and community habilitation.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
  • First aid, SCIP-R, and CPR certification required.
