Job Summary


We're seeking a highly skilled and versatile Site Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our construction site crew, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our projects. Your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, requiring a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with our team.



Key Responsibilities


As a Site Assistant, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, including:




  • Loading, unloading, and moving materials from within or near the construction site from pallets, skids, trucks, or other locations.
  • Transporting materials to or from storage or work sites.
  • Operating equipment as needed.
  • Participating in selective demolition, concrete placement, or flagging activities.
  • Stacking and assembling materials into bundles.
  • Making simple repairs and adjustments to machinery or trucks.
  • Working independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Identifying opportunities to find work activities when waiting for task directives.
  • Providing support to our carpenters in tasks such as partition layout, framing, sheet rock installation, and other carpentry work.
  • Assisting in the assembly of temporary protection measures.
  • Participating in general clean-up activities, including vacuuming, sweeping, and rubbish removal.
  • Assisting in selective demolition of non-load bearing walls, ceilings, and flooring materials, and cleaning up demolition debris.


Requirements and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you'll need:




  • Relevant experience in commercial construction, preferably in a similar role.
  • OSHA 10 certification, preferably held.
  • Operator's certification, preferably held.
  • The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts.


Estimated Salary


$45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
